Caryophyllene Terpene: The Wonder Molecule?



Caryophyllene terpenes are quite common in many of the products we carry, as well as other plants like black pepper, cloves, and cinnamon.  It has a punchy aroma described as spicy and woodsy. Caryophyllene terpenes may have both anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) properties.  It may also have the ability to modulate the immune system and help protect brain cells from damage.*

Caryophyllene is a sesquiterpene molecule found in essential oils but also found in some insects, like termites! Sesquiterpenes can also be found in some types of fungi and marine animals. Some research suggests that caryophyllene may be effective in treating osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions.** This could make it a valuable tool for people who suffer from autoimmune disorders or neurological conditions.
